NISA Action RPG Lapis Labyrinth Comes West in 2019; New Trailer at the Kinda Funny Games Showcase

NIS America announced 2D RPG Lapis Labyrinth is coming west for PS4 and Switch in 2019 with a trailer during the Kinda Funny Games Showcase.

During the Kinda Funny Games Showcase today, which you can find the whole replay of on Twitch, Nippon Ichi Software America announced Lapis Labyrinth will come to the west in 2019, for PS4 and Switch.

Lapis Labyrinth is a 2D-scrolling action RPG with frenetic battles in randomly generated dungeons. Players make a party of four out of eight classes, with the 4 characters being on top of each other in a tower called a “Dango”. Each class has a different attack depending on their position in the tower, and players must explore dungeons floor by floor, defeat monsters, destroy crystals to open up the goal and gain treasures. The game follows a no-risk-no-gain mentality, with deeper floors bringing more treasure but housing stronger monsters. Staying too long on the same floor will also spawn invincible monsters, so you can’t farm the same place for too long.

You can watch the first English trailer for the game below, showing dungeon exploration, the characters’ classes, Fever mode and more. Lapis Labyrinth launched in Japan for PS4 and Switch on November 29, with a slightly different title: Lapis X Labyrinth.
